Kim is a senior visual correspondent for epa images based in Johannesburg, South Africa, covering major news, features and sports events, both in Africa and internationally. Kim has visited over 50 countries on various assignments, including Libya and Liberia to photograph the civil wars in those countries, as well as the fall of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Other career highlights include organizing the coverage of Nelson Mandela’s funeral, political violence in Kenya in 2008, as well as the 2005 tsunami in Asia. On the sports front, he has covered several FIFA World Cups, Tour de France races, UEFA European Championships, the Rugby World Cup, and the Athens 2004 Summer Olympic Games, among many others.
