Olivier Matthys was born in Bruges, Belgium in 1968. With a professional bachelor degree at the LUCA School of Arts Campus Narafi in Brussels, Olivier joined Belga News Agency for 9 years. He then relocated to Islamabad for 6 years working as EPA’s Regional Chief Photographer for Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. After 4 years with Geneva’s International Red Cross Committee & Federation in Southeast/Pacific Asia, Olivier returned to Belgium and covered politics and sports for AP and activities of the Royal Family for Getty Images. In 2023 Oliver joined EPA again and is now focusing on Sports and European Institutions in greater Belgium.
