Christian was born in Austria in 1987. Having discovered his passion for politics at university in Vienna, he has delved into real-world political sphere by covering major events in Austrian and International politics as a visual journalist, as well as sporting competitions like the Olympic Games, Formula One, and Alpine Skiing. Since joining in 2015, he has been in charge of epa’s coverage from Austria and is also part of the Germany team from his base in Munich.

Reed harvest at lake Neusiedl in Austria

The company exports the harvested reeds mainly to the Netherlands, Germany and Great Britain, where the reeds are used to bulid thatched roofs. Due to climate change, lake Neusiedl is frozen less frequent and the ice cover is too thin for the weight of the harvesting machines.
