Cristobal Herrera
United States
Cristobal was born in Cuba in 1971, and today is based in Florida, USA. He worked for years for a Cuban newspaper, and was awarded a spot on the 1999 World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass, which allowed him to make the next step to international coverage. He was expelled from the country in 2004 because of his photos of the former Cuban President Fidel Castro. After arriving in the USA, he worked for a range of national and local newspapers. He joined epa in 2014 as part of new epa's international video production.
