Rolex dela Peña
Rolex dela Peña was born in the Philippines in 1977. He studied journalism at the University of the Philippines Diliman where he also worked as a photographer for the school paper. His first camera was a Yashica 35 mm rangefinder which he borrowed from his uncle, a photojournalist.
After graduation Rolex worked for the Manila Times until early 2003 when he joined epa. His coverage includes news, sports, politics, daily life, and culture. Apart from the Philippines he has also covered events in other Asian countries, including the political conflict in Thailand.
Following more than three years as part of epa's team of photographers in Beijing, China, Rolex relocated back to Manila in January 2017.
