Atef Safadi
Atef joined epa in 2003, and is the company’s correspondent for Israel and the Palestinian Territories. During his career, which began in 1996, he has covered the first Israeli-Lebanese war and the Israeli withdrawal from Southern Lebanon in 2000, the Second Palestinian Intifada that began that year. Since 2003 he had been based in Ramallah, covering news events all over Israel and the Palestinian Authority, covered Israel's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in the year 2005, the second Israeli-Lebanese war in 2006, and the Gaza War. He was also part of epa’s team covering the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
