The bold new design and company rebrand signifies a new chapter for EPA, making a strong statement for the future, whilst also facilitating entry into new markets.
The European Pressphoto Agency (EPA), founded in 1985 and one of the biggest global image and video news agencies, with a worldwide network of approx. 130 visual journalists and 22 local offices and representatives around the world, is rebranding as EPA Images. To accompany the rebrand, EPA will also launch a new website with a new look and feel, new products and new functionalities, all of which signify a new direction for EPA.
The EPA Images rebrand also includes a new logo for the agency, pointing EPA towards 2023 – the 20th anniversary of EPA’s global operation. The new brand EPA Images is a reflection of the established EPA brand which has gained a reputation worldwide for reliable, trusted, and high-quality news coverage.
“The new EPA Images logo more clearly represents the EPA of today”, said Julia R. Arévalo, President & CEO. “The rebrand along with the launch of the new website equips EPA with the tools to start a new chapter, maximizing opportunities in untapped markets, whilst building on the core news brand that EPA is known for”.
The new EPA Images website delivers a striking new design, in a total departure from the EPA of old. The concept for the design is built around a newsfeed format, allowing the excellence of EPA’s content to really shine through whilst showcasing EPA’s distinctive style.
This is also marking EPA’s entrance into e-commerce, with content now being available via the web “Shop” for easy single license and content pack purchasing.
“We are confident the new EPA Images website will be a smoother user experience for our clients and partners, the site is faster, more reliable, and houses our multimedia content in a more professional and visually appealing way”, said Christian Wolf, recently appointed Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for EPA.
The European Pressphoto Agency was founded by a number of established European photo agencies and officially started on January 1, 1985. The vision of the founders was driven by the demand for an independent quality world picture service originally designed for the needs of the European media.
Today, EPA’s photo and video services are based on the broad network of visual journalists all over the world and on the daily production of its partners and member agencies, which are all market leaders in their respective countries.
