Shawn Thew has been with epa images since 2003 and serves as Chief White House Photographer in Washington, D.C.

He has worked in over 45 countries covering major news and sporting events including international trips of the US President, US presidential campaigns and political conventions, the Iraq war, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, World Cups, Euro Cup, Formula 1 Grand Prix races, and many major US professional sports.

When not working Shawn loves to work on and ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from San Francisco State University and lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife, son, and dog.
