epa Hiring of Industry Expert Ian Campbell to Focus On Opportunities in Sport Sector

epa today announced the hiring of experienced executive Ian Campbell to drive its business in the sports sector.

Campbell, a former senior executive at digital sports media company Perform and an ex-MD of PA Sport, will develop ways of leveraging epa’s formidable sports photography resources, reputation and relationships to grow new revenue streams.

epa is one of the largest visual content providers in the world with a network of 130 award winning photographers and videographers, plus a deep and extensive network of stringers. Together with its member European news agencies and partners, epa delivers a distinctive, timely and quality service from around the world.

The epa sport production is world renowned and makes up some 40% of epa’s overall output. With main headquarters and editorial desks in Frankfurt, the dedicated and knowledgeable sport team, work to provide coverage of an extensive calendar of events such as, all the Tennis Grand Slams, the F1 circuit, European Football, Olympic Games, World Cup Football, Athletics, Golf and Winter Sports. The service is also managed via regional editorial desks in Bangkok, Cairo, Madrid, Washington, D.C and Los Angeles.

Campbell held a number of senior positions during his seven years with Perform, including Executive Vice President for Europe & the Middle East and MD of Omnisport, the company’s multimedia sports news agency. Prior to that he ran PA Sport’s global business and sat on the board of its parent company PA Group.

Campbell has also consulted for a number of sports content businesses.
